Stories from the Puranas, by Nalini Sahay

The Hindu faith as seen in India today – in the temples and in the teachings of yoga and meditation in the ashrams – is largely founded in the compilations of The Puranas. These are the ancient books of the Hindus, which tell the life stories of the gods, and from which so much of the art and literature and rituals of India are drawn. In this book, these stories are retold with a modern sensibility for the young reader.
