Gliders, by Jay Marshall

Carlo had a feeling something was wrong the instant he stepped onto platform JULIUS, a platform of numerous young cliques, theaters, skate parks, and quite an extraordinary view of the sunset. He and his friends drink beer, smoke new age hazard- free tobacco cigars, and talk about the history of the greatest migration of mankind from an overpopulated Earth to planet Quantum-59. The history is frightening and the fact that history seems to be repeating itself doesn’t make it any less unsettling.
“Imagine an entire civilization falling from the sky,” Carlo says to his four friends.
